After the defeat in national cup 2019, coach Nguyen Duc Thang resigned and bid farewell to Thanh Hoa FC.

In a 1-2 thrashing  to Hai Phong in knockout stage of National Cup 2019, coach Nguyen Duc Thang suddenly resigned which is rumored to be derive from the dis🉐agreement in the use of personnel between coach Duc Thang and team’s leader board.

Coach Nguyen Duc Thang took over the position in Thanh Hoa from the 7^th round of V-League 2018 from his predecessor Mihail. He helped Thanh Hoa finish runner-up in V.Lea𒊎gu𒉰e 2018 and the runner-up of the Vietnam National Cup 2018.

In the 2019 season, Thanh Hoa faced many financial and personnel difficulties. However, the talent of coach Duc Thang still helps Thanh team to compete impressively and temporarily ranked 5th in the rankings. Therefore, the departure of this strategist made Thanh Hoa fans regret.

In addition to coach Duc Thang, Thanh Hoa club also broke up with assistant Nguyen Huy Thong, defender Dinh Tien Thanh and midfielder Samuel Monday. Some sources revealed that the 2018 V.League Board of Directors will invite coach Vu Quang Bao to take over the 'hot seat' at phase 2 of V.League 2019.
